Online Auctions:
We don't want to get into the specifics of how eBay auctions work as you can find all of that information in their very useful customer help section. However, simply put, online auctions put sellers and buyers to work against each other. Sellers want their auctioned items to sell at the highest possible bid price, while at the same time buyers want to win their auction at the lowest acceptable bid.

The Basics:
When you purchase myBidMax™ you agree to use this software tool to generate predictive information about your auctions whether you are an eBay seller or a buyer.
myBidMax™ Predictive Engine helps assist eBay sellers and eBay buyers in their auction process. This software tool acquires the information needed to suggest to a seller the optimum price to start bidding as well as the reserve price. For the buyer, the optimum ceiling price for a bid.
The information generated by myBidMax™ software helps users make important decisions about engaging bidders if the user is an eBay seller or when joining an auction if the user is an eBay buyer.

An Advanced Auctioneering Tool:
In the background there is a data mining engine, similar to what makes Google's search work. This engine "harvests" or "collects" all of eBay information such as, bidding, buy-it-now, auction data and more.
The myBidMax™ engine analyzes the captured data and generates complex mathematical models that are contained in your myBidMax™ definition. This definition gets refreshed periodically about once every couple of months. Naturally this is the critical part of myBidMax™.
myBidMax™ is, essentially, an information manager system coupled an inference engine aided by a Machine Learning system. myBidMax™ allows you to manage your data about your auctioned or bidding items and will tell you what to expect in terms of best price and chances to win an auction or sell an item at a desired price. Ideally, we want you to do better when using myBidMax™ than otherwise without it.
myBidMax™ uses the information contained in the definition to generate predictive guidelines about your auctions. myBidMax™ definition data is generated separately in-house and distributed with your system. It consists of the mathematical information models required to generate accurate predictions.
|
Two Parts to the Engine:
ENGINE PART ONE: The BidMax component relies on state-of-the-art computing technology to produce all the necessary information for myBidMax™ to function.
ENGINE PART TWO: myBidMax™ on the other hand is the interpretive and inference engine that takes decision on what to advise given your input and the knowledge of eBay info space.
|
End Results:
Extensive analysis of the results have shown myBidMax™ to be very accurate. Naturally, since we are dealing with auctions, which are interpreted by the system as a stochastic process (probabilistic models) any measure of accuracy is translated into probabilities and statistics.

Dispelling some misconceptions about myBidMax™
1. myBidMax™ is not a substitute to dealing with eBay: i.e. open an account and conduct auction (bidding or selling) operations. You will continue to do what you do as far as eBay is concerned.
2. myBidMax is not connected to your eBay account or any of your accounts. myBidMax™ behavior is rather similar to a monitoring system. myBidMax™ monitors eBay auction operations and this this is done in 2 different modes:
Mode 1: Statically in-house - i.e. on myBidMax™ central computers - by a process called datamining. This is a huge on-going operation which requires lots of computing power and therefore is not performed on your computer. But, this process information results, in the form of mathematical predictive models, are transferred to your computer and will reside on your machine once you install myBidmax™ on your machine.
Mode 2: Dynamically on your computer by capturing specific information supplied by you as a seller and about eBay items subjected to your selling or bidding once showing on eBay listings.
3. At no time is information passed from myBidMax™ to eBay or your eBay accounts. myBidMax™ requires that eBay item data be captured. We call this operation acquiring eBay item data, this is done at will, by the user. This information is then used as a reference to check the state of an auction. It's a shortcut to avoid keying in information. Sellers are still required to enter more information than eBay would require thus helping produce more accurate predictions. In fact, myBidMax does not depend on this information except for timing and knowing where biddings stands. Naturally if the user supplies this information it will be used by myBidMax™ This is done easily by pressing the refresh button. This is like watching a race and reporting the state of the race at some interval of time until the race ends
4. myBidMax™ is really a Computer Aided Auction system. It consists of a file manager to keep track of your auctioned items and an inference engine that predicts auctioned prices and this is based on mathematical models.
5. myBidMax™ in its current version is not synchronized with eBay, for example, if you bid or watch an item it is not automatically registered with myBidMax™.
6. myBidMax™ is an eBay independent software program and is related to eBay only because it is analyzes auction data provided on eBay website. The way myBidMax™ captured eBay data is similar to what Google does when it launches its robots going about collecting information that exist on the Internet websites.
7. myBidMax™ has been designed for ease of use by keeping user input to a minimum. For a buyer it's really a matter of deciding which item should be subject to monitoring and prediction. For a seller there is more to enter, but this is rather optional. Once registered into myBidMax these items are ready at anytime to have their status checked. This is a streamed-lined way to maintain your items in a concise format independently from eBay system but of course in relation with eBay.
